Email & Identity - Trusted identification in SOC Connect
When linking your email, password recovery - regaining access - expanding connections in the SOC Connect community will be extremely simple!

At SOC Connect, you can fully join the chat while remaining completely anonymous.
However, if you verify your email address, even if just a small step, your account will be better protected whenever unfortunate incidents occur.
📌 To proceed, you just need to perform a few simple steps as follows:
1️⃣ Click on your avatar in the upper left corner and select “Settings”.
2️⃣ In the “User Settings” section, click the plus sign “Add Email Address”.
3️⃣ Enter your email address.
4️⃣ Enter your SOC Connect account password to verify the addition of the email address.
5️⃣ Check your email and proceed to confirm by clicking the attached link.
6️⃣ Return to the SOC Connect app and click “Continue”.
📌 Now, your email has been securely linked to your SOC Connect account. And from now on, if you accidentally forget your login password or need to recover access to your account, you just need to:
1️⃣ Press “Forgot Password”.
2️⃣ Enter your email and click “Next”.
3️⃣ Confirm the password change by clicking the attached link in the instructions sent to your email.
4️⃣ Return to the SOC Connect app and click “Next”.
5️⃣ Enter a new password and click “Reset Password”.
And note that if you change your password because you suspect the old password may have been compromised, please check the option to “log out of all devices” to cut all old sessions. This will help ensure that only you with the new password have access to SOC Connect.
Additionally, verifying your email will also help expand connections, allowing other users in the community to find you more easily through the verified email.
📌 To do this, please link to the identification server “connect-id.socjsc.com” by:
1️⃣ Click on your avatar in the upper left corner and select “Settings”.
2️⃣ In the “Identity Server” section, select “No Identity Server Configured”.
3️⃣ Enter “connect-id.socjsc.com” in the identification server box and click the “Add” button.
4️⃣ Read the “Identity Server Terms” carefully and click “Agree”, you can totally “Change” or “Disconnect” at any time.
📌 After finishing adding the identification server, please return to the “Settings”:
1️⃣ In the “Discovery” section, you will see your email.
2️⃣ Click on it and select “Share”.
3️⃣ Check your email and confirm by clicking the attached link.
4️⃣ Return to the app and click “Continue”.
Now, you can find and be found by acquaintances.
It is important that the decision to share your email with the identification server is entirely up to you.
All connections are only activated when you agree.
