Email & Identity - Trusted identification in SOC Connect
When linking your email, password recovery - regaining access - and expanding your connections in the SOC Connect community will become extremely simple!

At SOC Connect, you can fully participate in conversations while remaining completely anonymous.
However, by verifying your email address - even if it’s just a small step - your account will be better protected in case any issues arise.
📌 To proceed, you just need to follow a few simple steps as follows:
1️⃣ Click on your profile picture in the top-left corner and select ”Settings”.
2️⃣ In the “User Settings” section, click the plus sign to ”Add Email Address”.
3️⃣ Enter your email address.
4️⃣ Enter your SOC Connect account password to confirm adding the email address.
5️⃣ Check your email and confirm by clicking the attached link.
6️⃣ Return to the SOC Connect app and click ”Continue”.
📌 And that’s it! Your email is now securely linked to your SOC Connect account. From now on, if you ever forget your login password or need to recover access to your account, you only need to:
1️⃣ Click “Forgot Password”.
2️⃣ Enter your email and click “Next”.
3️⃣ Confirm the password change by clicking the link included in the instructions sent to your email.
4️⃣ Return to the SOC Connect app and click “Next”.
5️⃣ Enter your new password and click “Reset Password”.
And keep in mind, if you are changing your password because you suspect your old one may have been compromised, make sure to check ”sign out of all devices” to end all previous sessions. This ensures that only you, with the new password, have access to SOC Connect.
Additionally, verifying your email will help expand your connections, allowing other users in the community to easily find you through your verified email.
📌 To do this, link to the identity server ”connect-id.socjsc.com” by:
1️⃣ Click on your profile picture in the top-left corner and select ”Settings”.
2️⃣ In ”Identity Server”, select ”No Identity Server Configured”.
3️⃣ Enter ”connect-id.socjsc.com” in the identity server field and click ”Add”.
4️⃣ Carefully read the ”Identity Server Terms” and click ”Agree”. You can ”Change” or ”Disconnect” at any time.
📌 After adding the identity server, return to ”Settings”:
1️⃣ Under ”Discovery”, you will see your email.
2️⃣ Click on it and select ”Share”.
3️⃣ Check your email and confirm by clicking the attached link.
4️⃣ Return to the app and click ”Continue”.
Now, you can find and be found by your known contacts.
Importantly, the decision to share your email with the identity server is entirely up to you.
All connections are only activated when you give your consent.
